TYLOPHORIDICINE A(), 98+% Usage And Synthesis
Description
The most recently discovered of the Tylophora alkaloids, this base is found in the roots of T. asthmatica and has [α]25D + 108° (c 1.91, MeOH). The ultraviolet spectrum in MeOH has absorption maxima at 258, 286.5, 310, 339.5 and 355 Mu. Two methoxyl groups and two phenolic hydroxyl groups are present and the alkaloid furnishes the O,O-dimethyl ether, m.p. 2l8-2200 C (dec.) and the diacetate, m.p. 192°C.
Uses
Tylophorinidine is used in biological studies for thymidylate synthase in leukocytes from patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia and acute lymphocytic leukemia. It allows for inhibition of pergularinine and tylophorinidine (Erratum).
