Uses
Pyraoxystrobin is derived from o-Tolylacetic Acid (T536600), which is a ring-substituted phenylacetic acid with auxin activity used as a plant growth regulator. Also, it is a novel strobilurin fungicide with excellent and broad spectrum antifungal efficiency.

ChEBI: Pyraoxystrobin is an enoate ester that is the methyl ester of (2E)-2-[2-({[3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5-yl]oxy}methyl)phenyl]-3-methoxyprop-2-enoic acid. A broad spectrum fungicide used to control a variety of diseases on rice, vegetables and teas. It has a role as a mitochondrial cytochrome-bc1 complex inhibitor and an antifungal agrochemical. It is an enoate ester, an enol ether, an aromatic ether, a member of pyrazoles, a member of monochlorobenzenes, a methyl ester and a methoxyacrylate strobilurin antifungal agent.
Synthesis
3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-1H-5-pyrazolol and (E)-2-(2-chloromethylphenyl)-3-methoxymethyl acrylate React in a polar aprotic solvent under alkaline conditions to prepare pyraclostrobin ; after the reaction, add an appropriate amount of water to the reaction solution, and then add alkanes, halogenated alkanes, aromatics, and substituted aromatics Or extract pyraclostrobin with ether solvent, distill and separate the solvent to obtain pyraclostrobin crude product; recrystallize the crude product in alcohol solvent to obtain Pyraoxystrobin.
