Synthesis

Example 171A Synthesis of 3-(ethoxycarbonyl)piperidine hydrochloride: thionyl chloride (22.5 mL) was slowly added dropwise to a solution of ethanol (40 mL) containing piperidine-3-carboxylic acid (10.7 g, 83 mmol) at 0 °C. Subsequently, the reaction mixture was heated to reflux and kept reacting overnight. Upon completion of the reaction, the solvent was removed by evaporation under reduced pressure to afford the target product 3-(ethoxycarbonyl)piperidine hydrochloride (13 g, yield: 100%). The product was analyzed by LC-MS (ESI) and showed m/z: 158 ([M+H]+).
