Uses
PIT is a purinergic P2Y receptor ligand.
Biological Activity
Purinergic P2Y receptor ligand. Displays irreversible antagonism at P2Y receptors in some smooth muscles but potentiates responses to ATP in other systems (chick brain recombinant P2Y 1 receptor and sympathetic/purinergic nerve stimulation).
in vivo
PIT (10 mg/kg; i.p.; for 5 days) significantly protects both the white matter and the cortical plate lesions against the insult in mice with S-bromo-willardiine injection induced tonic and tonicoclonic seizures[3].
