It has a role as an anti-inflammatory agent, an antiviral agent, an analgesic, a TGFbeta receptor antagonist, a nephroprotective agent, an anti-allergic agent and a human xenobiotic metabolite. It is a resolvin, a secondary allylic alcohol and a hydroxy polyunsaturated fatty acid.
