Preparation
Preparation by reaction of stearyl chloride (octadecyl chloride or 1-chlorooctadecane) with resbenzophenone in the presence of sodium hydroxide and phosphorous triiodide in aqueous diethylene glycol at 175° for 1.5 h (94%).
