CJC-1295 Usage And Synthesis
Description
CJC-1295 is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) and a growth hormone secretagogue (GHS) which was developed by ConjuChem Biotechnologies.
Uses
CJC-1295 may markedly increase plasma growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) levels in animals and humans.
General Description
CJC-1295 is a 30 amino acid peptide analogue of the growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH). Compared to the native protein sequence, CJC-1295 has four amino acid substitutions which improve protease resistance, and an additional lysine residue at the C terminus that incorporates a maleimidopropionic acid group. This maleimidopropionic acid, sometimes called the drug affinity complex (DAC), forms stable covalent linkages with free thiol groups on the surface of plasma proteins such as serum albumin . The conjugation of CJC-1295 to plasma proteins dramatically increases the biological stability of the drug, extending plasma half-life up to 6 – 8 days in humans[1].
