Uses
Dibenzothiophene, 1-bromo-8-chloro-, is a commonly used organic compound that can be employed as an intermediate material for OLEDs. It can be utilized for the development of an emission-auxiliary layer material, enabling a reduction in device driving voltage, as well as an enhancement in luminous efficiency, color purity, and lifespan.
Preparation
2-bromo-3'-chloro-6'-(methylsulfonyl)-1,1'-biphenyl (74 g, 224 mmol) was added to 500 mL of sulfuric acid, followed by stirring at room temperature for 20 h. After that, the reaction solution was placed in ice water and then adjusted to pH 9 by using NaOH aqueous solution. The resultant was extracted with dichloromethane (DCM), then treated with anhydrous magnesium sulfate to remove moisture, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain 52 g (yield: 78%) of Dibenzothiophene, 1-bromo-8-chloro-.
