PD 121373 Usage And Synthesis
Description
PD 121373 is a Benzothiopyrano-indazole cpd. The benzothiopyranoindazoles are potent inhibitors of nucleic acid synthesis, reducing both DNA and RNA synthesis to the same extent at similar concentrations. Like other known intercalators, these compounds produced DNA single- and double-strand breaks in a time- and concentration-dependent manner in L1210 cells.
Uses
PD 121373 is a DNA complexing agent with antitumor activity. PD 121373 can bind tightly to DNA and RNA and inhibit the synthesis of DNA and RNA. The IC50 values of PD 121373 for inhibiting DNA and RNA synthesis in L1210 cells are 0.5 μM and 0.3 μM, respectively[1].
