Uses
18:1 Dansyl PE has been used in unilamellar liposome preparation. It may be used to incorporate into liposomes as the fluorescence energy transfer (FRET) acceptor. It may also be used as a component in Golgi-like acceptor liposomes for lipid transfer assay.
Biological Activity
Phosphatidylethanolamine controls membrane fluidity in eukaryotic cells. Phosphoethanolamine (PHOS) has the ability to repress tumour growth both in vitro and in vivo. It possesses anticarcinogenic effects. It can also prevent the mRNA expression of cyclin D1 and VEGFR1 (vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1).
