Benzyl(heptadecyl)dimethylammonium chlorideDark is a dark brown colloid. It has an aromatic odor and is soluble in solvents such as ethanol, ether and benzene.
Uses
Benzyl(heptadecyl)dimethylammonium chloride is used as glass fiber softener, antistatic agent, asphalt emulsifier and binder. It can also be covered on the surface of bentonite to make thickening agent to prepare grease.
Synthesis
Benzyl(heptadecyl)dimethylammonium chloride is prepared by the production of high boilers of dimethyl dodecyl amine and benzyl chloride.
