Chemical Properties

The hydroxyl group of 1-butoxy-2-propanol can be condensed and esterified with carboxylic acid compounds, and can also be nucleophilic substituted with alkyl halides under alkaline conditions to obtain the corresponding ether derivatives.

Uses

1-Butoxy-2-propanol can be used in household and industrial cleaners, grease paint removers, metal cleaners, etc.

Propylene glycol n-butyl ether, also known as n-butyl propyl ether or PnP, is a solvent with diverse industrial applications.
