Description

Fluo-3 is a fluorescent indicator for intracellular Ca2+ that is used in flow cytometry and cell-based experiments. Fluo-3 produces fluorescence with an emission maximum at 525 nm upon binding to calcium.

Uses

FLUO 3 and the acetoxymethyl ester (FLUO 3/AM) are only weakly fluorescent, but chelation with Ca2+produces a strong enhancement of fluorescence.
