Uses

6-Amino-2(1H)-pyridinone can be used as a reactant to synthesize pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one derivatives as selective aldose reductase inhibitors exhibiting antioxidant activity. It can also be used to synthesize carbamoyloxy derivatives of 2-substituted imidazo[1,2-a]pyridinium salts with acetylcholinesterase inhibitory activity.
