Nitrazine Yellow Chemical Properties,Usage,Production

Chemical Properties

bordeaux to brown powder, soluble in water, dilute acid and dilute alkali. The maximum absorption wavelength is 586nm.

Uses

Nitrazine Yellow is a pH-sensitive azo dye. It changes color from yellow to blue in pH range 6.0–7.0 and is widely used in microscopy. Dyes and metabolites.

Application

Nitrazine Yellow is used to test vaginal pH during late pregnancy to determine the breakage of the amniotic sac. To perform a fecal pH test for diagnosing intestinal infections or other digestive problems. In civil engineering, to determine the carbonatation spread in concrete structures and therefore assess the state of the rebar's passivation film.

Biological Activity

Nitrazine Yellow ( 2-(2,4-dinitrophenylazo)-1-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-disulfonic acid disodium salt) is a pH-sensitive azo dye. It changes color from yellow to blue in pH range 6.0–7.0 and is widely used in microscopy. Thro at swab immersed in nitrazine yellow is used to identify pH variations in the vagina before and after amniotomy.
