Uses

Prostaglandin F2α methyl ester (PGF2α methyl ester; Dinoprost methyl) is a PGF2α analog with more lipid solubility. Prostaglandin F2α methyl ester exhibits efficacy in maintaining the ocular hypotensive[1].

Biochem/physiol Actions

Constricts an isolated human smooth muscle; methyl ester form of prostaglandin F2α which is a luteolytic prostaglandin (induces parturition; pulmonary vasoconstrictor).

in vivo

Prostaglandin F2α methyl ester (1-10 μg for one eye, single dose) lowers the intraocular pressure (IOP) and reduces pupillary diameter in cats^[1].

Animal Model:	Cats^[1]
Dosage:	1-10 μg
Administration:	topically applied for one eye
Result:	lowered the IOP and reduced pupillary diameter.
