Uses
The use of cytisine hydrochloride as a drug for treating ischemic stroke has the following beneficial effects: (1) At a dose that does not lower blood glucose, cytisine hydrochloride can significantly improve neurological dysfunction in mice with focal middle artery occlusion (MCAO) model, reduce cerebral infarction volume and cell apoptosis rate; (2) It can alleviate brain tissue damage such as cerebral edema; (3) It can weaken the lipid peroxidation effect of oxidative stress and promote the recovery of oxygen free radical scavenger content, significantly inhibit the expression of NR2B protein and mRNA in brain tissue after ischemia, and promote the phosphorylation of CREB and REK and the expression of ERK and CREB mRNA.
