Uses

1-Stearoyl-2-linoleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine s used in the preparation of a fiber with resistance to respiratory viral disease. The fiber has exogenous pulmonary surfactant which can enter the body through breathing and play an antiviral role.

PC is the substrate for sphingomyelin synthesis. PC is the precursor for various second messenger like phosphatidic acid, lysophosphatidic acid, diacylglycerol.
