Monodisperse polystyrene latex particles are also used to calibrate:

  • Airy Disc First Fringe (ADFF) analysis method based on size measurements
  • Aerosol instruments

Monodisperse polystyrene latex particles are also used to investigate their effect on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) emissions.

Uses

Used to calibrate, qualify and monitor the performance of particle size analyzers, surface scanning instruments and particle counters.
Monodisperse polystyrene latex particles can also be used to:

  • investigate their impact on freshwater algae
  • study their influence on the toxicity of triphenyltin (TPT) to the marine diatom phytoplankton species
