Biological Activity
Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2-αkinase 3 is an enzyme encoded by the EIF2AK3 gene in humans. This gene encodes for an enzyme th at is a part of the endoplasmic reticulumμs (ER) unfolded protein response (UPR), called PERK. It is activated by tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA) a bile salt and chemical chaperone. It is associated with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP).
