Uses

SW033291 is an inhibitor which maintains the ability to promote tissue regeneration through inhibition of prostaglandin-degrading enzyme 15-PGDH.

Biological Activity

SW033291 is an inhibitor of the prostaglandin-degrading enzyme 15-PGDH. PGE2 is known to promote hematopoiesis and to promote reeneration by causing stem cells to proliferate. 15-PGDH degrades prostaglandin PGE2 and is a negative regulator of tissue regeneration and repair. SW033291 inhibition of 15-PGDH doubled levels of PGE2 and doubled rates of colon and liver tissue regeneration. Mice given SW033291 after receiving a bone marrow transplant had a two- to threefold increase in the number of donor cells th at homed to the their bone marrow.

in vivo

SW033291 (10 mg/kg; intraperitoneal injection; twice daily; for 3 days; C57BL/6J mice) treatment for three consecutive days shows significant benefits, including a doubling of peripheral neutrophil counts, a 65% increase in marrow SKL cells, and a 71% increase in marrow SLAM cells[1].

Animal Model:C57BL/6J mice[1]
Dosage:10 mg/kg
Administration:Intraperitoneal injection; twice daily; for 3 days ( for 5 doses)
Result:Showed significant benefits, including a doubling of peripheral neutrophil counts, a 65% increase in marrow SKL cells, and a 71% increase in marrow SLAM cells.
