Uses

Ethyl 2-Benzoyl-2-fluoroacetate is used in the chemoselective preparation of α-chloro- and α-fluoro-β-keto esters by chlorination or fluorination with N-chlorosuccinimide or Selectfluor in the presence of titanium catalysts such as (cyclopentadienyl)titanium trichloride.
