5-Formyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydropteroic Acid along with its glutamate esters can be used as a subtrate for binding to methyenyltetrahydrofolate synthetase.
Uses
5-Formyltetrahydropteroic Acid is an impurity of Folic Acid (F680300); a vitamin needed to synthesize DNA, conduct DNA repair and methylate DNA. It also acts as a cofactor in biological reactions involving folate.
