Chemical Properties

The pure product of dichlorochrysanthemoyl chloride is a colorless liquid, while the industrial product is a yellow transparent liquid with a pungent odor. Its bp is 92-98℃/560pa (110-122℃/1.33kPa), and its n²⁰_D is 1.5228. It is soluble in organic solvents such as ether, acetone, benzene, and toluene, and reacts with water and alcohol.

Uses

3-(2,2-Dichlorovinyl)-2,2-dimethylcyclopropanecarbonyl chloride can be used as an important intermediate of pyrethroids to prepare pesticides such as permethrin, cypermethrin, beta-cypermethrin, pentenyl cypermethrin, etc.
