Uses

1,3-Dibromo-2-iodobenzene has been studied for its use in organic chemistry as a chiral reagent for the synthesis of organic compounds that contain an aryl group with an electron donating group on the ortho position.

Synthesis

1,3-dibromo-2-iodobenzene is synthesized by reacting indoline with lithium diisopropylamide (LDA) and t-butyllithium.
