sec-Butylmagnesium chloride solution is a Grignard reagent, it can be used in:

  • Metal catalyzed cross-coupling reactions with non-activated aryl chlorides.
  • The synthesis of various alkoxytrichlorosilanes by reacting with tetrachlorosilane and alcohols.
