Biological Activity
Dianemycin (Nanchangmycin free acid) is a polyether antibiotic produced by Streptomyces nanchangensis NS3226, which inhibits Gram-positive bacteria. It is also a broad-spectrum antiviral drug against Zika virus.
in vitro
Dianemycin (Nanchangmycin) can be used as a growth promotant in poultry and to cure coccidiosis in chickens. It is active against drug resistant strains of malaria.
