Chemical Properties

Hygroscopic powders. The melting points rise with atomic weight from SmBr3 (~628°C) to ErBr3 (~950°C).

Uses

Applied in solid state synthesis of CsNaLa6Br14N2 and La3Br6N which contain rare bitetrahedral structural units.1
