Polysorbate 80(For Injection) Usage And Synthesis
Description
Polysorbate 80, also named Tween 80, is a commonly used solubilizer and is considered a safe excipient. The excipient is used worldwide in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. The excipient has been approved for injection by authorities in many countries, including China, the United States, and the United Kingdom. With a higher quality standard, polysorbate 80 for injection (TW80) is a popular excipient used in the modern injection industry. Indeed, drugs such as taxol injection (an antineoplastic agent) and amiodarone injection (an antiarrhythmic agent) contain the excipient. In China, polysorbate 80 for injection was abused in traditional Chinese medicine injections (TCMIs), such as the Yuxingcao injection, which resulted in a series of nonspecific adverse reactions[1].
