Uses
2-Iodothioanisole is a synthetic compound that is used as an inhibitor of the enzyme cox-2. It has been shown to inhibit the production of prostaglandins.
Physiological effects
2-Iodothioanisole has also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, mediated by its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and chloride channels.
