3-Nitrophthalhydrazide has been used in the preparation of 3-aminophthalhydrazidate, required for the synthesis of monoacylhydrazidate-coordinated Mn²⁺ and Pb²⁺ compounds.

Synthesis

To the dry 1000ml three-necked flask, add 100g 3-nitrophthalic acid dimethyl ester, ethanol 140g, hydrazine hydrate (50%) 83.6g, stirring and heating to reflux, maintain the reflux reaction for 3h, cooling down with stirring, cooled to room temperature and then pumped and filtered. Crystals and then add water to dissolve, filtration, the solution and then add concentrated hydrochloric acid acid acidification to PH1.5-2, filtration, washing, drying to 60g, the appearance of light yellow crystalline powder 3-nitrophthalic acid hydrazide, yield 69%, purity 98.2%, melting point > 300 ??.
