IRON NICKEL OXIDE Usage And Synthesis

Uses

Iron nickel oxide is used as an adsorbent to remove hexavalent chromium ions present in the waste water by co-sedimentation method. It is also employed as an additive in membrane (i.e. polyvinylchloride/styrene-butadiene-rubber blend heterogeneous cation exchange membrane) fabrication, thereby increasing the permeability for bivalent ions compared to the monovalent type.

Iron nickel oxide (Fe₂O₃/NiO) nanopowder is a class of nanomaterial with properties such as superior magnetic, electrical and selective absorption. It can be used as an additive in the formation of membranes for water treatment.
