Synthesis
Potassium Triethylborohydride is prepared by the reaction of Potassium Hydride with Triethylborane in THF, or benzene. From Potassium Triisopropoxyborohydride and triethylborane in THF and from sodium triethylborohydride and potassium amalgam in benzene.

The solution in THF is moisture- and air-sensitive, corrosive, and flammable. Reacts violently with water. Handle and store under nitrogen or argon in a cool place. Stable over prolonged periods of time. Use in a fume hood. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing.
