Definition
Naphtha (coal), solvent-refining is a complex combination from high temperature (greater than 427.degree.C (800.degree.F)). Treatment of coal in the presence of hydrogen and a solvent, flashing off gaseous products and fractionating the remaining slurry, boiling in the range of approximately 66.degree.C to 193.degree.C (150.degree.F to 380.degree.F). It consists predominantly of hydrocarbons and oxygen-and nitrogen-containing compounds having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C5 through C12.
