SPRUCE OIL Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
See Hemlock.
Uses
Like sandalwood, rosemary, and jasmine oils, spruce oil (Picea excelsa) has been observed to stimulate fibroblast growth. Although the relevance of this observation has not been scientifically established, it has been noticed that stimulation of fibroblast activity could result in an increase in epidermal cell turnover. Spruce oil is produced by distillation of spruce branches.
Definition
Extractives and their physically modified derivatives. Picea mariana, Picea alba or Tsuga heterophylla, Pinaceae.
