PERFLUORO-N-PENTANE Usage And Synthesis
Uses
Diagnostic aid. [Note—The trademark EchoGen Emulsion has been selected for the mixture of Perflenapent and Perflisopent in a ratio of 85:15, respectively.
Uses
Perfluoro-n-pentane is used in method for producing bubble formulation for theranostics.
Definition
ChEBI: Perfluoropentane is a fluorocarbon that is pentane in which all of the hydrogens have been replaced by fluorines. It has a role as a radioopaque medium and an ultrasound contrast agent. It is a fluoroalkane and a fluorocarbon. It derives from a hydride of a pentane.
Synthesis
Hexafluoropropylene and aluminum chloride catalyst [m(hexafluoropropylene):m(aluminum chloride)=7-8:1] were added to a nickel autoclave, and tetrafluoroethylene [n(C2F4):n(c3F6)=1.02:1] was passed through the autoclave at the same time while the reaction temperature was controlled to be -20 to 20??C, and the reaction pressure was up to 0.5 MPa, and the ratio of cis to trans in the obtained 2-C5Fl0 was about 7. The ratio of cis to trans in the The obtained 2-C5Fl0 and the solvent were added to a nickel autoclave with open stirring. Then a certain amount of and solvent was continuously passed in, while a certain reaction temperature and reaction pressure were controlled. Wherein F2 is at least 2 times the number of moles of 2-C5Fl0, the reaction temperature is preferably -20 to 25?? C., and the reaction pressure is preferably atmospheric pressure of 0.5 MPa (adiabatic pressure, hereinafter referred to as adiabatic pressure).
