9H-Dibenzo[a,c]carbazole is a polycyclic aromatic heterocyclic compound composed of two benzene rings fused to a carbazole nucleus. It typically appears as a white to pale yellow crystalline solid with a high melting point and thermal stability. It has a moderate solubility in common organic solvents (such as toluene, chloroform, and dichloromethane) but is insoluble in water.

Uses

The core application of 9H-dibenzo[a,c]carbazole is as a basic building block or host material for constructing high-performance organic optoelectronic functional materials. It is widely used as a host material in organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), particularly for hosting phosphorescent or fluorescent luminescent guests to achieve efficient blue, green, or white light emission. It is also commonly used as a hole transport layer (HTL) material to facilitate the injection and transport of holes from the anode to the light-emitting layer.

Application

9H-dibenzo[a,c]carbazole and its derivatives are used as the main materials in OLED display and lighting applications. The devices prepared with them can achieve high efficiency, long life and excellent color purity, especially playing a key role in achieving efficient and stable deep blue phosphorescent OLEDs. In the field of solar cells, it is used as a hole transport material to effectively improve the energy conversion efficiency and working stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs).
