L-Carnitine orotate Usage And Synthesis
Uses
L-Carnitine Orotate decreases seizure frequency in epileptic patients. Treats dermatosis such as ichthyosis and psoriasis.
Synthesis
(1) 156g (1mol) of whey acid was dissolved in 2000mL of water, warmed up to 80??, and then added 1.2mol of ammonia with a mass percentage concentration of 25% with stirring, and the reaction time was 1.5 hours at the above temperature, after the reaction was completed, concentrated, cooled down, analyzed the crystals, and filtered to obtain ammonium salt of orotate;
(2) The obtained ammonium salt of orotate was added into 2700mL of aqueous ethanol, where the mass percentage content of ethanol was 10%, and then added 241.8g of L-carnitine, and kept at this temperature to dissolve the whey acid salt. (2)Add the obtained ammonium salt of orotate into 2700mL of aqueous ethanol solution, where the mass percentage of ethanol is 10%, warm up to 80 ?? to dissolve the orotate, and then add 241.8g of levulinic acid, keep the reaction at this temperature for 3 hours, cool down to 0 ??, the product was precipitated, filtered to obtain levulinic acid orotate 296g.
The product was detected by the liquid-phase detection, and the retention time of levulinic acid orotate standard was compared, and the product was identified as levulinic acid orotate. The retention time of the product was compared with that of the L-carnitine orotate standard, and the product was identified as L-carnitine orotate. The content of the product was determined by liquid normalization method: using Agilent 1100 high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with an Agilent SB C8 column (150 mm ?? 4.6 mm, 5 ??m), mobile phase: 0.02 mol/L phosphoric acid solution, flow rate: 1.0 ml/min, temperature: 30 ??, detection wavelength: 254 nm, and the retention time of levulinum wheyrate: 4.95 min, and its yield: 1.0 ml/ min. : 4.95 min, its yield was 93.4%, and the content of L-carnitine orotate was 99.5%.
