Biological Activity
Radixin is a protein encoded by the RDX gene in humans and is mapped to chromosome 11.4 It is a cytoskeletal protein th at may play an important role in linking actin to the plasma membrane. Radixin is a paralogous protein and is a part of ezrin-radixin-moesin (ERM) protein family. It functions as a cross-linker between integral membrane proteins and actin filaments of the cytoskeleton. Radixin may be essential for cortical cytoskeleton organization, cell motility, adhesion, proliferation and tumor progression. Radixin may play a critical role in pancreatic cancer progression.
