ANTI-EMERIN Usage And Synthesis
Uses
Emerin antibody can be used for detection of Emerin by Western blot at 0.5 - 1 μg/mL. Antibody can also be used for immunohistochemistry starting at 2.5 μg/mL. For immunofluorescence start at 10 μg/mL.Antibody validated: Western Blot in human samples; Immunohistochemistry in human samples and Immunofluorescence in human samples. All other applications and species not yet tested.
Biological Activity
EMD encodes a serine-rich nuclear membrane protein named emerin th at belongs to the nuclear lamina-associated protein family. Emerin is involved in the formation of actin-based cortical network at the nuclear inner membrane. It regulates signalling pathways by interacting with β-catenin (transcription coactivator) and controlling its flux into the nucleus. It is necessary for HIV-1 infection in the chromatin engagement by viral cDNA before integration. It is involved in the linkage of centrosome to the outer nuclear membrane.
