Stilbene-related benzalphthalide derivative with with potential anti-HIV and leishmanicidal activity. It has anxiolytic effects and maybe useful in the development of a non-benzodiazepinic and non-nitrogenated antianxiety agents.An impurity arising in the synthesis of azelastine (A808250).
