Description
Silk is the fibrous protein obtained from cocoons of the silk worm.
Chemical Properties
A natural fiber secreted as a continuous fila- ment by the silkworm, Bombyx mori; silk consists essentially of the protein fibroin and, in the raw state, is coated with a gum that is usually removed before spinning.Combustible but self- extinguishing.
