dactimicin Usage And Synthesis
Description
Dactimicin is a a novel pseudodisaccharide aminoglycoside. It activities in vitro and in vivo antibacterial compared with those of other aminoglycoside antibiotics. Dactimicin was more resistant than astromicin to inactivation by aminoglycoside 3-acetyltransferase, probably owing to the protective action of the formimidoyl group.
Uses
Dactimicin is a pseudodisaccharide aminoglycoside. Dactimicin is an antibiotic that can inhibit the growth of methicillin-susceptible S. aureus isolates and coagulase-negative staphylococci with MIC50s of 2 μg/mL. Dactimicin is active against organisms possessing aminoglycoside-modifying enzymes[1].
