Uses
6, 7-dimethyl-5,6,7, 8-Tetrahydropterin hydrochloride is a synthetic analogue of tetrahydro-L-bioterin and is used as a cofactor required for the NOS isoforms, phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan hydroxylases, and other enzymes[1][2].
Biochem/physiol Actions
Synthetic reduced pterin cofactor for nitric oxide synthetase, and for phenylalanine, tyrosine, and tryptophan hydroxylases; less active than the natural cofactor, tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4).
