Synthesis

Tris(cyclopentadienyl)yttrium was prepared as follows: 0.6g of anhydrous yttrium trichloride was weighed and 0.53g of cyclopentadienyl sodium reacted in tetrahydrofuran, and the mixture was first evaporated to remove the solvent, and the remaining solid material was sublimated at 250??C under vacuum to obtain the pure metal cyclopentadienyl compound tris(cyclopentadienyl)yttrium.
