COPPER(II) ACETATE MONOHYDRATE Usage And Synthesis

Uses

Copper (II) acetate monohydrate is a green alkylation reagent and used as a catalyst to activate alcohols.

Application

Copper (II) acetate monohydrate is used for the synthesis of copper oxide nanoparticles, Cu2ZnSnS4 thin films for use in solar cells. It is used in zinc oxide varistors, as a catalyst in the polymerisation of organic materials and as a mordant in textile dyeing. Industrially, it is also used as a ceramic pigment and biocide.

reaction suitability

core: copper

Synthesis

Copper acetate hydrate is produced by reacting copper, copper oxide or copper carbonate with acetic acid:
Step 1: Place acetic acid and copper acetate mother liquor (700 kilograms) in a reactor and add water until the concentration is adjusted to 50%-99%;
Step 2: To the diluted mother liquor of acetic acid and copper acetate, add (600 kg) of copper oxide or copper hydroxide and stir;
Step 3: Chemical reaction after the temperature in the reactor is gradually increased from room temperature to 50??-150??;
Make acetic acid and copper acetate mother liquor react with copper oxide or copper hydroxide to form copper acetate, and after determining the reaction liquid with crystalline concentration through the sampling port, the temperature in the reactor is cooled down to 40 ??, so that the copper acetate is crystallized;
Step 4: Afterwards, the reaction liquid is injected into a centrifuge, and the copper acetate crystals and the mother liquor are separated through the centrifuge, and 1150 kilograms of hydrated copper acetate crystals and 500 kilograms of the mother liquor can be separated, and the separated mother liquor is sent to a storage pot for storage, and injected into the reactor at the time of the next reaction, and is used to dilute the acetic acid solution;
Step 5: The separated hydrated copper acetate crystals are put into a drier for drying;
Step 6: Pack and store the dried (1080 kg) hydrated copper acetate after passing the laboratory test.
