Syringaresinol Usage And Synthesis

Uses

Syringaresinol is a lignan that can be extracted from the dragon's blood of the Dracaena tree. Syringaresinol increases NO production by increasing the phosphorylation and dimerization of endothelial NO synthase, exerting a vasodilatory effect. Syringaresinol also inhibits the NF-κB pathway, exerting anti-inflammatory activity and inhibiting arthritis[1][2][3].

Definition

ChEBI: Syringaresinol is a lignan that is 7,9':7',9-diepoxylignane substituted by hydroxy groups at positions 4 and 4' and methoxy groups at positions 3, 3', 5 and 5' respectively. It has a role as a plant metabolite. It is a lignan, a polyphenol, an aromatic ether, a furofuran and a polyether.
