Uses

2-Fluorophenylethyl ether can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate, and can be used in laboratory research and development and chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis processes.

Synthesis

2-Fluorophenol (6.7 g, 60 mmol) was dissolved in 66 mL of acetone, ethyl iodide (6.3 mL, 78 mmol) and potassium carbonate (12.4 g, 90 mmol) were added, and the reaction was carried out at reflux for 5 hours in an oil bath. Concentrate the reaction solution under reduced pressure, add 100 mL of ethyl acetate and 60 mL of water, partition, the aqueous phase was extracted with ethyl acetate (30 mL??2), combine the organic phases, anhydrous magnesium sulfate drying, filtration, concentrate the filtrate under reduced pressure, to obtain the title product 2-fluoro-substituted ethyl ether of phenyl (6.88 g, red oily material).
