Uses
Mandelic Acid Sodium Salt, is used as an antiseptic (urinary). It is also used as a short-term exposure biomarker in urine from styrene exposed workers.
Purification Methods
It crystallises from 95% EtOH and is dried in a vacuum. [Ross & Morrison J Chem Soc 1019 1933, Banks & Davies J Chem Soc 74 1938, Beilstein 10 III 450.]
