Definition
A notifiable disease caused by Bacillus anthracis toxin. It occurs most commonly among domestic cattle and sheep but pigs and horses can also be affected. Humans are sometimes infected by contact with infect meat products or by direct contact with diseased animals.

Hemorrhage and serous effusions in various organs and body cavities; extreme prostration; death.
